FAQs

Where is the hackathon going to take place?

The Hackathon will take place at the Brightlands Smart Services Campus (Heerlen) between 3-4 March.

Who can participate?

This Hackathon is focused on Maastricht University and Hoge School Zuyd students and PhD candidates, but it is also open to anyone else (students or other), in the Netherlands or abroad.

How can I get to Heerlen?

We’ll organize buses between Maastricht and Heerlen, the precise information will be made available soon on social media.

Where can I sleep during the Hackathon?

We have ‘Silent Rooms’ waiting for you at the Campus, where you can hop into a tent and take a nap (it’s not like you will have a lot of time to sleep).

Where can I eat during the Hackathon?

Free food and drinks for everybody! You don’t have to worry about a thing, we’ll arrange all the necessary catering, as well as everything else you’ll be needing to get you through the 24 hours of the Hackathon.

Where can I register for the Hackathon?

You can register here.

Are you accepting all applicants?

It depends on how many applications we get. We have enough space for 100 participants, and we want to make sure we can organize teams that are truly interdisciplinary, so we welcome applications from all disciplines! If we get more than 100 applications, we’ll need to make a selection, and participants will be informed about the results on February 3rd, 2018

What’s the registration fee?

Once your participation is confirmed, we will charge a €24 participation fee just to give you an extra incentive to actually participate. Think about it like this: €1 per hour gets you skills upgrades, networking with our awesome partners, free food and the best time ever.
